When Myspace was popular, we had a game we used to play on one of the fan sites where you would attempt to name a Mode song from one line in the song...

The person who gets it right first... picks the next song line to guess...it's as easy as that.. it's a bit of fun and it tests your knowledge of Mode songs...

Give it a go...

example:

I would write something like...

longing for some rest and feeling numb...

Then you would answer

Barrel Of A Gun.. (Well done you etc etc)

you then would think of a line of your own for instance..

and carry on..

I wonder how the situation in the UK is in general... Depeche Mode is a british band after all. And not only in the UK. It is told, that the strongest fanbase use to be in Germany and the former Eastern Bloc... is it still true?

So, I've taken it upon myself this week to listen to everything DM. I'm using their discography from wikipedia as a reference and plan to create one huge playlist, in chronological order, or all proper DM albums (nothing concert recorded or bootlegged). I'm trying to both experience all the music as well as find my favorites. If you have any advice/opinions, let me know. Project begins at 8am Monday morning.

...and I just wanted a specific thread for the music portion and just a place to keep it consolidated. That's why I posted those links above - for easy access to the other ones - first of all.

So anyway someone posted a song Martin used in his DJ set for Santa Ana (the one I went to) and so I thought I would post it here. Evidently this is the 1st of 10 that will be posted. I'll try to keep up and post them all here. With his gig coming up and any others we can just consolidate all of the info here.

This month will mark the 14th anniversary of Michael Hutchence passing. He was the face and the voice of the successful band INXS and Australia's original rock god. We will forever miss him. I sometimes wish that he was still alive!!!

We have a bit of news about this project! Someone named Tony Scott is remixing some of their tracks. Personally I don't get why he is remixing before they come out with the actual album, but we will see. Maybe regular songs and remixes will be included all at once.

What do you do for a living?

I thought it might be interesting to find out what we do for money no need to mention company names if it makes you uncomfortable, but what sort of work do you do? If you are a student, what field do you hope to go into and/or what do you do to earn spending money?

I call myself a web designer, but it's not actually very much of what I do. I'm more of a content manager. I design and maintain websites for an publishing/advertising company but all the work I do is for internal purposes. Training mostly. Content manager means I mess with other people's files a lot - make sure they are in the right place and named appropriately, move them around, archive them, search for files for other people, etc etc. I also do a bit of graphic work and what I call "document design". That is take a bunch of info that is a mess and put it into a document that is easy to read, and follow and looks nice. I will also do a bit of writing on rare occasion.

I also recently have learned how to create and upload courses into the Learning Management System. It's software that we use in our company for everyone to take required online courses such as safety, how to sell, complying with laws, protecting company assets, etc.

I also am the "tech support" for my group, heh. I'm the most technical person in my little group so I often need to help people with stuff like software issues, printing issues and what not. I also liaison with the server folks that our websites live on. When there is the problem with it I'm the contact person with IT.

I'm thinking of taking some courses soon about SQL or some sort of database work. I'm nervous about it but the person in my group who does that will be retiring very soon.

In my spare time, I have too many projects! I'm working on sacreddm.net and my own blog plus I maintain a couple of dm fanfic sites, I always have something that I want to write but never get around to it. I always have things to clean and organize (my office - it's a mess right now) I also love going to concerts and performances, going out to eat and um, being lazy surfing for dm fic (which is why I have so many unfinished projects)

Not sure if many of you are interested in Erasure or Vince's other solo work (Yaz, the Assembly etc) but I figured it wouldn't hurt to have a thread.

This is a montage video set to a song off the new album. I'm going to go see them in Oct and my friend is contemplating a season membership to the venue which would get her access to the band hang-out area. If she does she can bring a guest. Maybe I can get another pic of me kissing another former member of DM!!!

The song itself is eh. I like some stuff much more than others....don't know how this new album is going to be.
